Meloxidyl is used to relieve pain and inflammation in musculoskeletal disorders associated with osteoarthritis and inflammation after orthopedic or soft-tissue surgery. According to the veterinarians the safe and ideal dose of Meloxidyl (meloxicam) for dogs is 0.09 mg/lb (0.2 mg/kg) initial dose on the first day and then 0.045 mg/lb (0.1 mg/kg) once a day. For the safety and correct dose, Meloxidyl comes with 2 dosing syringes in the bottle. The little blue color is for puppies under 15lbs or 7kg, and the large green color is for dogs weighing over 15lbs or 7kg.  

The small blueprint syringe marks at 0.5 lb, then in 1 lb increments (ranging from 1 to 14 lbs) and large green printed syringe marks in 5 lb increments (ranging from 5 to 140 lbs).

  • Recap and tighten the cap after use.

Meloxidyl contains meloxicam belonging to the NSAIDs class. The medicine helps your dog in relieving pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Prostaglandin is the substance that is responsible for inflammation, fever, pain, and exudation in the body.

Which dogs should not take Meloxidyl Oral Suspension?

According to the veterinarians, the Meloxidyl Oral Suspension is not recommended for dogs with known hypersensitivity to meloxicam and bleeding disorders. The medicine has not been evaluated for puppies under  6 months of age, pregnant, lactating, and dogs used for breeding.
